Welcome to The Forest Bookstore, Selkirk
The Forest Bookstore is an independent bookshop based in Selkirk, at the heart of the Scottish Borders. We stock a wide yet discerning range of literary fiction and non-fiction titles, with a core collection of literature, art and environment books.
Here, you will find modern world fiction in translation, critical and philosophical essays, nature writing and environmental essays, writings on design and music. Find the latest illustrated children’s book, or a second-hand lost favourite, or a well-loved classic of European cookery. From international contemporary art books, to local and national histories of Selkirkshire, the Borders and Scotland, our range of books is extensive. It holds together well within a modern and inviting interior. Visit us and experience the real thing: this is a literary oasis recently commended in The Guardian’s profile of characterful independent bookshops.
